WHAT MAKES HALO UNIQUE?

CUSTOMIZABLE AND SCALABLE

HALO applications connect sensor technology (including cameras, dosimeters, and hazmat detectors) directly to the HALO displays for the wearers and the command center.

App-based integration allows customer organizations to add the right functionality for their operations.  The HALO operating system uses an open application programming interface (API) to encourage third-party developers to  build new apps and add functionality. HALO provides an integration platform for multiple technologies, including equipment our customers are already using--as well as gear that hasn't been invented yet.

LOCATION THROUGH MESH NETWORKING

Firefighers often work in dark, smoke-filled, and dangerous environments. When deployed, the HALO devices form a mesh network that uses signals from all of the devices (base and mobile units), along with GPS, to  locate wearers in three dimensions. This is crucial information, especially when firefighters are working in multistory buildings. GPS alone cannot tell the commander on which floor a firefighter is working.

Wearers can see the relative location of team members directly in the display, and the command center view shows the location of all firefighters in the network. If a firefighter becomes trapped or disoriented in a dangerous environment, rescue personnel will activate more quickly to assist the trapped firefighter.

DESIGNED FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

HALO is the first system designed by first responders for first responders. Development has prioritized incident response concerns, including  improved real-time situational awareness, enriched information feeds, and rapid personnel accountability.
